Ezekiel Elliott Re-Signs with Dallas Cowboys in 2024
Second Stint in Dallas
Ezekiel Elliott has returned to the Dallas Cowboys after spending one season with the New England Patriots. The Cowboys and Elliott agreed to terms on a new contract on April 29, 2024, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. Elliott's return to Dallas comes with a significant salary cap hit, as he counts $6 million in dead money from his first stint with the team in 2024. His new contract will be applied in addition to that.
Patriot Performance
Elliott spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots, where he rushed for 642 yards and three touchdowns on 184 carries. This marked a career low of 35 yards per carry for the running back. Despite his relatively lackluster performance in New England, Elliott remains a valuable asset to the Cowboys, who have struggled to find a consistent running game in recent years.
