Barça's Cubarsi Included in 22-Man List
Silver Medalists Aim for Gold in Paris
The Spanish Olympic Committee has revealed the 22-player training squad for the men's football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Among those selected is Barcelona's 17-year-old forward, Pau Cubarsi, who has impressed with his performances for the club's youth teams this season.
Spain will be looking to improve on their performance at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, where they won the silver medal after losing to Brazil in the final. The squad includes several players who were part of that team, including Pedri, Ansu Fati, and Eric Garcia.
Coach Santi Denia is confident that his team can challenge for the gold medal in Paris. "We have a talented group of players who are hungry for success," he said. "We know it will be a tough tournament, but we are confident that we can go all the way."
Spain will play their first match of the tournament against Argentina on July 26th. They will also face Australia and Egypt in the group stage.
